Meet Lento

(And Jennie McRae, Shreveport-based Photographer)

Lento is a musical term that means “slow,” which was a perfect fit for our first daughter’s sloth because my husband and I are both symphony musicians on the side. Since 2019, all sloths have been “lentos” to our daughter (pronounced “yento”). When I was trying to figure out what I’d name a photography business if I ever started one, I couldn’t get past the idea of encouraging little ones to love on their lovie during a session. After all, their comfort item often becomes a part of their identity when they are little.

From the first time I saw heirloom photography, I knew I had to have images like this of my own children. I have admired the timeless simplicity of this type of portraiture since 2019. I, too, wanted to capture the tiniest details of my baby and relive split seconds again and again. Oh, to be a time-traveler and have these pictures taken every year from birth! The older they get, the more I realize that time is a thief and every day, they’re a different child.

There was only one problem with investing in heirloom portraits: I could not not use that money in investing toward a skill that I could bless others with. With a formal education in photography and over 8 years of experience in digital editing, all I needed was the lighting equipment.

After many hours of research and education, I finally have the lighting just right – and I am able to produce the quality images that the name “heirloom” requires.

It is my goal to provide treasures for your family that will be passed down for years to come at an attainable price so that more families can have these precious images of their children.

Thank you so much for your consideration. It’s my honor to preserve this special stage of life for you!

Sincerely,

Jennie McRae
